White feathers mixed with Cattleya orchids, sweet peas, and lily of the valley created a soft, airy bouquet.
For the reception, Mimi slipped into a golden-hued couture Chinese dress with intricate beading and Chantilly lace flown in from France.
The couple fell in love with San Jose‘s new City Hall Rotunda with its two-story glass dome that opens up to the sky.
The rotunda was draped in sheer panels and gold and auburn leaf designs were projected throughout the room. Gold chiavari chairs and chocolate brown table linens created a classic look.
While on a trip to Asia, the bride‘s parents had custom-made lanterns created as a surprise gift to the couple.
Tall vases filled with white orchids submerged in water created a unique centerpiece while the table card and menu rested against a gold easel.
Ivory fondant, a simple design, and fresh flowers accented the elegant four-tiered cake.
A groomsman in a black Calvin Klein tux showed off the cream spray rose and orchid pomander, which the two flower girls carried down the aisle.
Friends and family pitched in to create the favors—chocolate brown boxes filled with vanilla sugar cookies decorated with the couple‘s monogram.
Mimi accented her curves in a strapless, lace gown with an hourglass silhouette. Tom matched Mimi‘s traditional Chinese reception gown in a black Calvin Klein tuxedo with a champagne vest and tie.
When Mimi locked eyes with Tom at work, her heart started to flutter. However, Mimi wanted to remain professional so she kept her crush a secret -- little did she know, Tom felt the same. One day, Mimi asked Tom to come to her office for a quick meeting -- during that meeting he took the chance to finally ask her out. They hit it off and four years later, Tom and Mimi went on vacation to Las Vegas.

They made plans to visit the Hoover Dam but instead, Tom surprised Mimi with a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon followed by a romantic picnic lunch. Just then, Tom got down on one knee and proposed with his grandmother's ring. The pair decided to get married one day before their fifth anniversary in a chocolate brown and ivory wedding in the San Jose City Hall Rotunda.
